This was the home of Helen Martin, an eccentric local artist. The house is not very much captivating on its outside as with its inside. The scrappiest of the three new parks, it is, at the moment, also my favorite. Much of the site feels surprisingly intimate. There are shady little nooks, lovely native plantings and artfully orchestrated vistas. We’ll see how intimate and lovely it remains after the Parks Department takes over the park’s maintenance and all the buildings are built.

Some people dispute the smart trick, saying grating is much easier when you have gravity on your side while others expressed concern about the grater damaging the worktops.

The most prominent addition to the site is the Cubes Viewpoint, a pair of Corten steel structures facing out to sea, while slabs of stone and more Corten steel were used to create seating areas and landmarks elsewhere around the park.

Panels can be designed to accurate sizes to prevent fabrication costs and waste in the field. 227 kg is the maximum panel weight, with the maximum panel size of 1524 mm x 6096 mm.
